Company History

Originally formed as Elram International in 1969 to design and manufacture hydraulic actuators for the mining and steel industries. The main products supplied at that time were the ZBG Actuators and Thrustors of which many hundreds were installed and are still operating today.

During the 1980’s due to changing market forces Elram designed a new range of actuators aimed at the Power Generation, Oil and Gas type markets. This new EK and EKR Self Contained/Ring Main type Actuator moved the company into Expolsionproof/Hazardous Area environments, where high accuracy modulating closed loop feedback Actuation was an integral customer requirement.

In 1999 Advanced Component Technology Limited was formed to grow the supply of Electro-Hydraulic Actuators into World markets and offer the same products and services as previously supplied through Elram but with new innovations and products available.

Our continuing commitment to develop the range of Actuators meant a move to a new purpose built manufacturing facility in Silsden during 2004. This move has allowed us to expand the product range and offer improved services to our global customer base.
